Lancaster Contra began organising dances in February 2023.
We currently intend to have 3 a year with live music, on a Saturday afternoon so it gives people the opportunity to travel without requiring a late night or having to organise accommodation and because it’s more family friendly.
In between these we may do others with recorded music. If you’d be interested in calling or playing please get in touch with us.
We normally dance 13:30-16:45 with a short break

Entry
The suggested minimum donation of £10 may not completely cover the cost of the hall and related expenses for live music events. If you are able to support us by contributing more than this it would be greatly appreciated. Contras generally cost more like £15 per attendee to arrange.

We plan to be able to provide the online webpage for you to enter your card details at the door but this won’t be instant so would prefer you to pay in advance rather than have a queue. We also wouldn’t want anyone to turn up at the door and find the venue was full so it’s in everyones interest to do it in advance.
If you can’t pay electronically by one of the above methods we will be able to accept cash on the door but will not have facilities to give change.
